Nestled high in the majestic peaks of the Canadian Rockies, the surreal color of this glacial lake is set against a stately mountain and framed by giant fir trees.
This summer scene, photographed in Canada's Jasper National Park on June 30th, 2002, belies the fact that snow fell on my companion and I less than five minutes after taking this shot! The streams flowing into the lake from the left are glacial runoff flows, and are actually more than 50 meters wide!
